Web Development
OMPA (Oregon Media Production Association)
Difficulty: Hard • Neon CRM, WordPress, Basecamp, proprietary directory database • HTML/CSS
I've overhauled ompa.org enough that some people thought it was a brand new site! We got partway through a redesign & development with a vendor in 2019. We had all the design mockups for our new site, a brand new logo, and fresh messaging. The relationship ended before we could finish. And then a pandemic hit...
There were still a lot of important things we wanted to do with our platform! Throughout the first half of 2021, we ran advocacy campaigns to engage our membership. After our toughest legislative session yet, we passed 3 laws!
In June, we developed a campaign that felt like a meaningful part of our internal equity work. The whole thing came together in a matter of 3 weeks from submissions to debut. We put on a Black Creators Homepage Takeover for a week to spotlight local talent. Trying to do everyone's work justice was a challenge! I had no idea what kind of submissions we would get. I spent all week making improvements and fixing mistakes.
(Plus, I produced all of email and social marketing around all of this!)
Ritter Insurance Marketing: Agent Survival Guide
Difficulty: Medium • Github, Basecamp • Markdown, HTML
During my time at Ritter, the Creative team worked with our in-house Web Development team to redo the Agent Survival Guide website. The redesign included transitioning from a quarterly issue format to a daily blog.
We first performed a content audit to determine our top tags and categories. (This later informed the site's search function.) As a Copywriter, I helped refresh popular posts with the latest SEO strategies. We also analyzed feedback from agent surveys, our Agent Advisory Board, and in-house sales people to generate new ideas.
The email campaign for the relaunch used Ritter's existing contact list to target potential subscribers. We also integrated participants from our forum and followers of another Ritter site. We monitored analytics after launch, focusing on performance of new content types... This is when I brought infographics to Ritter!
